AsTec is a small business ,it was set up in order to provide modellers with quality electronic products (specifications equal to or exceeding most other available equipment) at a reasonable price, we have been trading since 1995. Originally we made and sold our own electronic products but as you will see our range has grown somewhat!! Enclosed is information on our current products. If you have any questions please give us a call (0900 - 2000) and we will do all we can to assist you. We only use the highest quality double thickness masked and pre-tinned PCB's. All the FET's quoted are individually rated at 75 amps (240 pulsed). The ratings shown are true capability ratings determined from long testing and experience.

Cells should be cooled before charging and kept cool whilst charging. In the case of NiMh cells this is a requirement and an explosion can result if you do not ensure that the cells stay cool (overheated cells vent hydrogen!!)

Here is a low cost 80mm square fan that runs on 12v DC. Ideal for cooling packs whilst charging - either in the boat or mounted in a purpose built tunnel.

mega-acculine
The Mega Acculine is a magnetic soldering jig. It was designed primarily for sub c cells but will work quite happily with other shapes and sizes. It has several strong magnets to hold the cells in place whilst the soldering operation is performed. The magnets are strong enough to hold a stack of cells extending past the top. The jig is supplied with full instructions. This is the ji that we use when making up in-line soldered packs.

minikeeper
A small locking mechanism for the end of a servo link. The minikeeper fits over (either side of) the attachment point. The bent metal linkage is inserted through the keeper and attachment point and the keeper swing over the rod wher it locks in place.

MSUP
A motor suppression kit consisting of 3 capacitors, insulation sleeve and installation diagram. These kits are particularly suitable for our speed controllers (where others may not be) but are equally suitable for all motor installations.

The suppression kit reduces radio frequency interference by absorbing these harmful frequencies, thus reducing or eliminating interference.

A plastic nipple link with a clamping screw mechanism. The link passes through the attachment point and securely clips to it's other half. A 2mm drilled brass insert and screw are used attach and adjust the nipplelink on the servo actuator rod.

Flexi shaft dog or screw thread, thrust washer, retaining nut and teflon tube as appropriate.

A stainless steel stub shaft tapped for the drive retaining nut. Drilled to suit the flex shaft to a suitable depth. We use only original Octura flex glued in with loctite 603. The flex length can be cut to suit to save you this tricky job, but prices are based on 10 inches from the front of the prop (the bit that buts against the strut)for 130 and 150 flex and 6 inches OAL for 098 flex. Original Octura teflon outer is supplied to suit.

Graupner single gearbox 2:1 ratio

A cost effective gearbox for single motors to 1 shaft. Plastic case and hard nylon? bearing surface, hard nylon? gears. Designed to fit 540 (05) or 600 motors but most motors can be made to fit to the gearbox. 3.2mm I/P and 4mm O/P shafts. The bearing can be fairly easily replaced with a more substantial item if the need arises.

we have seen these used for race purposes with good success. Spares are available and different ratios can be obtained by replacing the small gear.

This boat was developed by Ocke Mannerfelt and is the result of extensive research. The boat has been awarded two design prizes and is patented. The boat is extremely slim in an effort to minimise air resistance. The lateral wings on the hull produce upthrust due to their profile and also due to ground effect. The model is based on the original drawings and is moulded using epoxy glass, the driver's cabin is smoked plastic.

The boat can be fitted with a scale power system utilising a Z-drive 600 and SPEED 700 TURBO motor, but can also be equipped with two electric motors and contra-rotating semi-cavitating surface-piercing propellers for higher speed, it's up to you but a BB700 8.4 and 12 cells will give mid 30's MPH.

The Kit contains Quick-build, building instructions in German, English and French; Epoxy hull, driver's cabin, plywood parts, decal sheet, etc.

Speedline Models Bluebird K7. This kit is accurately vac formed and has sufficient parts in it to build any version of K7 throughout it's life from 1955 to 1967. At approx 13.5 (340mm) inches by 5.5(140mm) inches. This kit is small but with a bit of care and thought there is sufficient room to instal radio control. The Will 4 is a rigger designed for electric power from 12 cells. The modelKit includes all wooden parts as picture, Aluminium and Carbon tube for sponson mounts, servo hardware, aerial tube, retaining clips for sponson, bellows and an ABS plastic top. The model will work with 7- 20 cells.
The wooden parts are CNC cut from various grades of ply wood. All critical parts are keyed. Motor mount and transom are 1/8" birch ply.
