New SWAMBC race class for 2010 - Mini ECO

Postby MarkShipman » Wed Dec 23, 2009 6:18 pm

Hi All

At the recent SWAMBC FE AGM It was agreed to introduce a completely new class for 2010 - Mini ECO. A possible long term replacement for F3 as it is a restricted and fairly cheap racing class. The rules are similar but not exactly the same as the current FE National Mini ECO class.

The (SWAMBC) Mini ECO class rules are as follows;

Motor: Open to any brushed or brushless motor.
Drive: Submerged drive.
Hull: Mono hulls only, maximum length of 450mm
Batteries: Maximum 2S1P 2500mAh LiPo or Maximum 3S1P 2300mAh A123
(all as specified by the manufacture on the batteries)
Duration: 5 minutes, starting from the bank
Course: Anti-clockwise around the triangle course

If you wish to enter the Mini ECO class, please visit the FE Freq. listing page
http://www.swambc.webeden.co.uk/#/fe-fr ... 4516631867
Pick a free freq. and Race Number and let Russ know – as it’s a completely new class, freq. and race numbers will be allocated on a first come first served basis …and, no you can’t have boat number 1 - you have to earn that by winning the class next year!

NB Please note the battery spec, A123's are 3S1P 2300mAh, not 3S2P which may have appeared in error in a couple of places.

Happy Christmas

I need to get a good idea of the starting point for this class to avoid spending too much cash.

So, any help with the motors (make, model & Kv) and props are racers using would be gratefully received.

What cells/ makes are working well?

Thanks

Roger,

its not a huge amount of money for one of these. So far I have sold 18 tenshock ARTR mini eco's. There are other hulls available also!! The tenshock is only available as artr.

The tenshock hull, TS mini motor but a feigao 130 will do the job nicely The tenshock has a 26mm1.2 pitch prop - we are still fiddling with motor choice but around 4000 rpm/v at present. Flightpower evo 2200 with the wires stripped back comes in at 110gm on the nail.
